The Programme Monitoring Unit   | ORGANOGRAM |

 

The Programme Monitoring Unit is entrusted with the task of monitoring the implementation of NPIW. This includes:

 
  • Monitoring and Evaluation of Programme Performance.
  • Integrating the Programme with its Operational enviroment.
  • Benchmarking the Project in terms of Scheduling, Execution and quality of civil works.
  • Generating periodic reports on the status of the project and providing feed back to the provinvcial and federal Government on programme activity.
  • Removing bottelnecks between the provincial and tiers through effective coordination between the stackholders.
 

The PMU sindh was established in October 2004. It became active in November 2004, by reaching out to all the stakeholders, gathering them at one platform through District Meetings, motivating farmers, Agriculture Engeineering Officers, District Officers, and spelling out the features of NPIW. It has also started providing useful feedback to supervisory Officials at the district and provincial levels about the pace and quality of work by the field teams.

 

Monitoring Function - Activites to be performed by PMU officers

 

There are primarily 7 Stages of Activities to be Monitored.

 
  1. Motivation of Water Users to apply for Improvement of Watercourses.
  2. Registration of WCAs.
  3. Survey / Design of Watercourses.
  4. Technical Sanctions.
  5. Earthen Work of Watercourses.
  6. Financial Release of Funds to WCAs.
  7. Construction of Lining.
